SpaceMaster SM 7000-IO Photoelectric Sensor Series

The new SpaceMaster SM 7000-IO series is a high performance and versatile M18 cylindrical photoelectric sensor line comprising of a self-contained transmitter SMT, and a receiver SMR, which are to be used in thru-beam mode, SMP for diffuse proximity, SMRR for retro reflective and SMPF for use with fibre optic cables (supplied separately). The complete series operates with a 10-30 V dc supply voltage.

All sensors offer a combined IO-link and push-pull output, together with a supplementary NPN or PNP output. The SM 7000-IO is equipped with an IO-link communication interface which allows a wide variety of process parameters and settings to be configured and monitored (with Telcos USB-IO-Link Master 02), which includes: sensitivity adjustment, teach-in function, automatic gain adjustment, output mode, on/off time delay, one-shot timer, hysteresis, test function and gain level monitoring. Sensitivity adjustment and light or dark function may also be manually configured via integral potentiometers on the control panel of the sensor.

The SMR is available with either a 0.5 ms response time and 7 metre range or with a 2 ms response time and 20+ metre range. The test input in the SMT is intended to be used for disabling or enabling the transmitting power temporarily for test purpose or for multiplexing applications.

The SM 7000-IO sensors are fully encapsulated and housed in a sturdy IP67 construction, available in either plastic or high-grade stainless steel, ensuring maximum resistance to extreme vibrations, shock, impact and harsh environments; including high-pressure wash, water spray, dust, dirt and industrial contamination.

The complete series is offered with either an M12 or M8, 4-pin plug connection. The sensors include highly visible power-on and output indicators on the integrated control panel design.

  • Thru-beam: 0-20 m    
  • Diffuse proximity: 0-1 m   
  • Retro reflective: 0-3 m
  • Fibre: Dependent on the fibre optic
